Sweet Sketch Wednesday #98 with some BFF RAK

Hello Friends! This last week has been a bumpy one, ups and downs ups and downs. Thankfully, one of those 'ups' was a RAK package that I got from my BFF, Cassie. She sent me this awesome MFT WTG set called Who's that Harvesting Girl.. YAY! I just had to make her a Thank You card with the set she gave me. I followed this week's sketch at Sweet Sketch Wednesday, they are on #98 already! I hear they are doing it up for their 100th!

I got to do something new today! I have admired all the beautiful stitching I see all over blogland.. and I have wanted to try it for myself! I came across (what looked like a) neat stitching tool, but it didnt work out, SO... I remembered my old SU tool set, and I used my paper piercer and the hole guide and punched all those holes out and then stitched my floss thru each and every hole. I like how it turned out, but it was alot of work, and time consuming! I bet next time it will go faster because it wont be my first time.

Details:
Stamps: MFT WTG Who's that Harvesting Girl
Paper: Choice Buttercream, K&C Co Berry dp,
Green Galore
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black
Tools: Paper Piercer, Goldenrod floss,
Big Scallop Oval & Lacey Circle Nestabilities,
 Ruby Red brads, Copics
Techniques: Paper Piecing, Sewing
Thank you so much for stopping by! Your visit is very appreciated, as are your comments! If you have any tips to make sewing on cards easier, I would love to hear them!  Thanks again! :0)

Clear Dollar Stamps April Blog Hop ** Theme Challenge**

Hello Friends! It is time again for Clear Dollar Stamps' monthly blog hop! You should have hopped on over from the lovely and talented Lori's blog, if not, head back to Lori's blog where the hop starts! Your next stop will be the adorable and crafty Jerusha's blog.  BUT! before you go, I hope you will take a gander at my blog, and dont forget to comment! Our blog hop winners will be chosen from the comments left for the DT all during the hop!

Anyway.. I look forward to these blog hops every month ... I just love hopping around blogland to check out everyone's take on the same basic idea. This time, we were given a theme challenge....
An inspirational quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson: "The Earth laughs in flowers".

I took a bit of time to ponder this theme... I didnt want to do what one might first think of.. a flower card... I like flower cards, love to color flowers.. but there had to be something more.. the word "laughs" caught my eye and my imagination.. Laughing=fun. So, I came up with, what I think, is a fun take on the inspirational quote challenge.

I ended up using three different Clear Dollar Stamp sets .. the first being Hoppy Frogs ..  I just cant help but laugh at that frog! The second is Tulip Wreath .. the tulips match the dp perfectly! And the third is Summer Blooms Dahlia .. the sentiment, which happens to be exactly our theme! The inspirational quote !! HA!!

This month's prize is definately worth joining in on the hop.. TWO lucky winners will recieve a $10 gift certificate to the Clear Dollar Stamps store!

**Winners will be randomly chosen from comments received on two DT member blogs. Winners will be announced on the CDS blog Wednesday,  April 20th**

Ok, up next is Jerusha's blog! Thank you so much for joining in on this month's hop! Keep leaving comments! Remember the more comments, the more chances you have to be a winner! Good Luck!

Hello! It is already the third Friday in April! WOW! I continue to wonder how time passes me by so quickly ... sometimes .. but that is another story for another day. Haha ...
Anyway, since it has already been established to be the third friday of the month, that means it is again time for the Clear Dollar Stamps'  Clearly Inspired Challenge at ClearlyiStamp! YAY! This time, my BFF, Cassie has issued this challenge:
All about B*L*I*N*G!!
Yes! A girls best friend is bling, right? hehe .. Ok, so we want you to add Rhinestones, pearls, glitter, stickles, ect to your project!

For my card, I added Stickles ... alot of Stickles... Waterfall and Icicles to be specific. Stickles are fun, but they do try my patience! I dont always like to wait for things to dry .. ha!

Now onto the details of the Clearly Inspired Challenge!

Challenges are now going to be on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of each month, and you'll have 2 weeks to finish each challenge.

-Challenges can use any stamps or digis from any company

-Prizes will be given away after both challenges for the month. The number of prizes is determined by the number of participants for the month. For every 20 entries there will be a $10 gift certificate for stamps or digis up for grabs. (For example if over the entire month there were a total of 60 participants in both challenges, there will be 3 $10 gift certificates and 3 of the featured digital images to give away.)

I really do like Wednesdays .. some great challenges come out on Wednesdays, like this sketch challenge from My Favorite Things. The sketch can be viewed HERE on Splitcoast. I chose this great MFT A'la Modes stamp set called "Somethings Fishy". I have fallen in love with the A'la Modes, what can I say .. they are adorable!  This card is also for two other challenges, the first being a challenge I found on Wee Memories blog -- YNSC#40 Your Next Stamp Challenge where they challenge us to add TEXTURE to our card. I added dry embossing by using the Seeing Spots Embossing Folder. And the third challenge is on PaperTake Weekly, where we are challenged to be TRULY DIMENTIONAL by adding dimention to our card. I 'dimentionalized' my waves and my fish. Here is a close up view of the added dimention on my card:

Having Child-like Faith ... Stampin Sisters in Christ Luke 18:17

Good Monday Morning friends! It has been and still is very windy here in El Paso! So windy that any outdoor plans we had were cancelled and we stayed inside... Which meant I had some good quality time in my craft room! Today I played along with three challenges! The first being Stampin Sisters in Christ, who's challenge is to make "a card for a child "inspired by Luke 18:17. Also, this week,SSIC's sponsor is Clear Dollar Stamps! The second challenge is The Sweet Stop's sketch. I just thought it lent so well to the papers I chose to go with my CDS bitty bots robot! Not to mention that I love sketch challenges ...
The third challenge is at Wee Memories, its a color challenge, no specific colors, just use "colors that inspire you". I love using shades of blue and shades of red together. This has to be one of my favorite color combinations. I love how they play off each other, so cheerful and fun!

Thanks for stopping by! I love to read your comments! :o)

A Clean and Simple Clearly Inspired Challenge! CIC #25

I dont know about you all, but I just cannot believe it is April already! This year is really going by fast! (sigh) Anyway, I do love spring, and I do love the first (and third) fridays of the month because it is time for Clear Dollar Stamps' Clearly Inspired Challenge! This month, my BFF, Cassie has challenged us to create a CAS card. Clean and Simple... sounds much easier than it was for me. I guess that is why its called a 'challenge' hehe.. (eyeroll, l know)

I tend to go overboard with my cards even if it is supposed to be clean and simple, so I added a couple rules on myself to insure it would stay a CAS card... 1) I had to use white ... and 2) I had to stamp directly on the white ie only one layer.
Details:
(click above to see entire set)
Cardstock/Papers:Whisper White, Neehan Solar White
Inks: Momento Tuxedo Black
Copics: YG03, YR04, Y38, RV55, V20, V25

Now onto the details of the Clearly Inspired Challenge!

-Challenges can use any stamps or digis from any company

-Only one entry per person per challenge

-Prizes will be given away after both challenges for the month. The number of prizes is determined by the number of participants for the month. For every 20 entries there will be a $10 gift certificate for stamps or digis up for grabs. (For example if over the entire month there were a total of 60 participants in both challenges, there will be 3 $10 gift certificates and 3 of the featured digital images to give away.)

-We will also be giving away the featured digi image....one for every 20 entries!

Need more inspiration? Go check out Lori's Blog, home of the CIC, that is also where you enter your CAS card! Spread the word! The more entries we have, the more prizes we will be awarding!

Ok, get to work! I cant wait to see what you all create!
