Hello Friends! Welcome to December and the Holiday Season! This year has really flown by, and with us living in the desert southwest, the holidays really sneak up on me because it stays so warm here so late into the year... I am a native Washingtonian, and even though it has been 12+ years since I have lived there, these southern "winters" still trip me out. Hahaha

Well, not only is it the begining of December, the begining of the holiday season, my birthday in two days eek!, it is time once again for Clear Dollar Stamps' Clearly Inspired Challenge! This time, our talented and inspiring challenge hostess, Cassie, has challenged us to make Christmas cards. And, since we are all making Christmas cards, it is a perfect and timely challenge. Wow, I know I say it every time, but seriously? Time is speeding by! Which, I guess is good. With the time speeding thing noted, I find myself at the third Friday of the month, which means it is time, once again, for the Clearly Inspired Challenge!! YAY! This time, our amazing hostess, Cassie, has challenged us to use FLOWERS on our projects.

I chose a Christmas flower, CDS Poinsettia Joy. I paper pieced the different layers of petals and leaves to give it an interestiing look.

Sweet Sketch Wednesday #126 **Nice List Santa**



Hello Friends! Man, it feels like forever since I have been able to craft just for fun! Things have been, well,  to say the least ... upside down here at the Bryant house this last month. For now, at least, things seem to be getting back to 'normal'. 

I have missed my paper... I have an addiction to dp, I admit it. And I have had withdrawls to the point where I would go into the craft room to simply visit my dp.

Anyway ... I made this card for Sweet Sketch Wednesday #126. Also, at Paper Smooches, Kim is looking for Christmas cards, so that is why I was inspired to ink up my Paper Smooches' Santa Paws set. I (heart) Paper Smooches' images! Also, although this card may not be so "CAS" I will throw it in the mix at CAS-ual Fridays where they are asking for a design element to go 'over the edge'. I did it creations is calling for Christmas, The Crafty Pad is calling for Paper Piecing ( I paper pieced Santa's suit), and The Ribbon Girl is also calling for Christmas cards.

Poinsettia Joy

This is a sweet single stamp that sells for $5.75. I really like single stamps that have a significant size to them, and this one has just that. And it is really fun to color, or even paper piece!

Here, I stamped the poinsettia image directly onto the striped dp and stamped it three more times onto Choice SnowWhite, cutting out and paper piecing to give the flower a 3D effect.

Celebrate the Reason

This is a single seasonal stamp that will pair perfectly with several of our new releases. I went in a bit of a different direction.

When I was brainstorming on how to showcase this stamp, I saw the word "bloom" and just held onto it, the word "bloom" became my inspiration for this card, making me think of 'blooming' into a New Year, fresh and new.

Winter Wonderland times Three!

Hi everyone! I have been able to spend two mornings in a row in the craft room, which has been wonderful. I am sure all of you can relate, crafting is truly therapeutic.

This morning I was inspired and energized the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club challenge for this week. This week its a theme, "Winter Wonderland" and this MFT stamp set, Winter in the City came to mind. Its no secret how much I love the Who's that Girl line, and this stamp is no exception. I had alot of fun choosing out her 'outfit' ... paper piecing has to be one of my favorite techniques ... Anyway, I love the sketch for this week's Card Patterns challenge #93, so I had to play along with them! This card also fits into the theme challenge at Stampin Royalty, which is "Winter Holidays". Perfect! It has been a fun morning, thanks goes out to these three challenge blogs for the inspiration!

October Sneak Peeks Day Two !!

Hello and welcome to Clear Dollar Stamps October Sneak Peeks Day Two! Today I am showcasing the adorable Filled with Cheer, a set of 14 for only $12.99. This set is really fun and has so many possibilities. For this first example, I masked the three stockings then paper pieced them with fun Christmas dp.

For my second example, I stamped the stocking just once and stuffed the stocking with wrapped presents. When I was a kid, my parents stuffed our stockings with fruit and unwrapped trinkets, and now we use my husband's tradition, we wrap each little treat and trinket before we stuff our stockings. I watercolored the main image using Clear Dollar Stamps Clearly Coordinating Hybrid Inks, Strawberry Jam and Spruce Needle.

A Limelight Sketch

Hello and happy Sunday! This is my second post for today, I was able to enjoy some quiet time in the craft room this morning while my family was still asleep. I may not be a 'morning person' but I do like the stillness of the morning.

Anyway, I made this card for the Limelight Papercrafts sketch challenge, in which they also called for a tag. I fashioned my "tag" out of a scrap piece of paper, and I think it serves its purpose.

I chose to use this newly released stamp set from Clear Dollar Stamps called A Season of Wonder. A set of 5 for only $7.99. Definately a great value. I was inspired by that fantastic piece of dp from the Basic Grey Origins collection. It is a square 6x6 like you would expect, I just trimmed around the scalloped edges giving it more of a special look. Kind of reminds me of a tapestry.

A Season of Wonder -- OCC Sketch Challenge #31

Happy Labor Day my friends! The unofficial end to summer and the begining of my favorite time of year. I love the crisp cooler air in the mornings and the warm sunny air of the afternoons.

Today I have an OCC Sketch challenge card to share with you, made with an elegant Clear Dollar Stamps stamp set, A Season of Wonder,  set of 5 for only $7.99.

It was really hard for me to not color in the image, coloring is one of my favorite things to do! But, with this image, it seemed to highlight the main image of Jesus and Mary even more without color. Not to mention how easy it could be to produce a stack of Christmas Cards by not coloring the image. humm, something to ponder..

The Color Dare # 62

Hello! Can you believe we are at the end of March already? Tomorrow is April 1st .. I cant believe how fast time seems to be going by!! Well, even though spring is upon us here in the desert southwest, I did make a Christmas/ Winter card for this week's color dare. These awesome colors are among my favorite color combos, and they remind me of Christmas at the same time. Besides, it is a good idea to make a Christmas card here and there throught the year as to avoid the year-end crunch when it comes to Christmas cards!

Clearly Inspired Challenge #3 & Get Sketchy #17

Good Evening everyone! Happy Saturday! Today I am excited to share with you my submission for this weekend's Clearly Inspired Challenge and sketch challenge at Get Sketchy. The challenge for the Clearly Inspired Challenge is a Winter Theme. Easy Peasy, right? I have been having fun with my Clear Dollar winter inspired stamps, probably too much fun since I have been using them for pretty much everything! Today I chose the ever adorable Charlie Snowhorse from Clear Dollar Stamps. I colored his nose Baja Breeze because, well, he is very cold sitting out there covered in snow. That is what we felt like here this week. It has been cold here in El Paso, Tx we even got two and a half days of snow - in the desert!
Anyway, I hope you like what you see, I cant help but smile when I see Charlie all covered in snow. At least he has a scarf! ha ha..

Christmas gifts

Hello everyone! It has been nearly a week since I have posted! Time just got away from me with Thanksgiving and my son having the entire week off of school! Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving day, we sure did! So, anyway, I thought I would share a couple gift ideas I came up with.


This first one is a set of picture frames ready for the reciepient to slip in a picture, of maybe their new baby girl. I found these picture frames on clearance for $1.75 each (score!) For the first one I added some Tall Tales (su) dsp, So Saffron, Chocolate Chip &Brillant Blue cardstock and the second, Pink Flamingo (su) dsp & Tempting Turquoise cardstock and I used the Dahlia nestie for the picture placement. For extra embellishment, I added the cute ballerina from My Beautiful Ballerina (cdstamps) onto a labels 4 nestie and popped up her dress and face with dimentionals. The ribbons are Chocolate Chip, So Saffron & Old Olive for the first, and on the second are a couple of clear dollar ribbons. This second gift is actually a tin gift box. It is the box my fossil watch came in and I have been holding onto it waiting for just the right project. This box is full of nugget chocolates that I covered in 1"x3 1/4" strips of coodinating dsp. On the top of the box I used a phrase from chit chat rub ons (su) and a white handmade flower from Leah's Esty Shop topped with a red rhinestone brad. I intend on adding the actual gift inside the box along with the chocolates, so it is like three gifts in one! Who wouldnt like a pretty box for their craft table? (answer - non craft people... for them, it would end up in a drawer ... lol... )

For this box, I used one of my favorite dsp's Holiday Lounge (su) I cut four rectangles to fit each side of the box allowing for the rounded corners and added a small strip of sahara sand cardstock over the seams and wrapped this pretty burgandy (cdstamps) ribbon around the entire box. I thought about tying a bow, but I always do that... so I decided to use 4 build-a-brads using coordinating dsp to finish off each side. I used my handy dandy crop-a-dile to punch thru the metal.
