Clearly Inspired Challenge #29 -- Distressing --

OHMYGoodness! It is June already! Today is my son's LAST DAY of First grade. It is so bittersweet to see him grow up and move up to second grade .. Mrs Kyle has been such a wonderful first grade teacher, she made a lasting inpression on my son, and me.

{Sniff, Sniff} Ok, I am better... Today is the first Friday of June, and that means it is time for another edition of the Clearly Inspired Challenge over at Lori's blog, Clearlyistamp. This time, (my BFF) Cassie, has challenged us to DISTRESS our cards. Now there is a technique I havent done in a LONG time!

As I was thinking of what to make, I was reminded that one of my son's best friends is having a birthday soon, and so, I turned this into a two fold project, a distressed birthday card! Not too grown-up,(note the cowboy paper) the birthday boy is "only" turning 11. I am sure his mom doesnt think 11 is so "only" !! haha

Now, lets see what YOU come up with! You have TWO weeks to play!

*********************************

Now onto the details of the Clearly Inspired Challenge!

Challenges are on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of each month, and you'll have 2 weeks to finish each challenge.

-Challenges can use any stamps or digis from any company
-Only one entry per person per challenge
-Prizes will be given away after both challenges for the month. The number of prizes is determined by the number of participants for the month. (For example if over the entire month there were a total of 60 participants in both challenges, there will be 3 $10 gift certificates and 3 of the featured digital images to give away.)

Clear Dollar Stamps April Blog Hop ** Theme Challenge**

Hello Friends! It is time again for Clear Dollar Stamps' monthly blog hop! You should have hopped on over from the lovely and talented Lori's blog, if not, head back to Lori's blog where the hop starts! Your next stop will be the adorable and crafty Jerusha's blog.  BUT! before you go, I hope you will take a gander at my blog, and dont forget to comment! Our blog hop winners will be chosen from the comments left for the DT all during the hop!

Anyway.. I look forward to these blog hops every month ... I just love hopping around blogland to check out everyone's take on the same basic idea. This time, we were given a theme challenge....
An inspirational quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson: "The Earth laughs in flowers".

I took a bit of time to ponder this theme... I didnt want to do what one might first think of.. a flower card... I like flower cards, love to color flowers.. but there had to be something more.. the word "laughs" caught my eye and my imagination.. Laughing=fun. So, I came up with, what I think, is a fun take on the inspirational quote challenge.

I ended up using three different Clear Dollar Stamp sets .. the first being Hoppy Frogs ..  I just cant help but laugh at that frog! The second is Tulip Wreath .. the tulips match the dp perfectly! And the third is Summer Blooms Dahlia .. the sentiment, which happens to be exactly our theme! The inspirational quote !! HA!!

This month's prize is definately worth joining in on the hop.. TWO lucky winners will recieve a $10 gift certificate to the Clear Dollar Stamps store!

**Winners will be randomly chosen from comments received on two DT member blogs. Winners will be announced on the CDS blog Wednesday,  April 20th**

Ok, up next is Jerusha's blog! Thank you so much for joining in on this month's hop! Keep leaving comments! Remember the more comments, the more chances you have to be a winner! Good Luck!

Perfect! It has been a fun morning, thanks goes out to these three challenge blogs for the inspiration!

Taylored Expressions #131 and TPE 85

Hi and welcome to a new week! I have been practicing with my copic markers lately, which means I am pretty much making myself reach for them when I go to color my images, and so far, the jury is out on this one. Thankfully, it was fun! I made this card for two challenges, the Taylored Expressions Sketch and the Pink Elephant Theme challenge which is "Childhood". What came to my mind for the childhood theme was school and school crafts, therefore, Crafty Cuppie from Taylored Expressions came into the mix! I also used this cute dp from October Afternoon called Report Card to tie in with my school/childhood theme.

Stamps: Crafty Cuppie (TE)
