A Sweet Sketch Color Throwdown Thanksgiving

Hello Friends! Happy Thanksgiving! I haven't played along with a color challenge in a long time, although they always intrigue me .. and tonight, I absolutely could not resist this week's Color Throwdown... the colors are probably one of my most favorite combos .. Real Red, Taken with Teal, Baja Breeze and Chocolate Chip. nice, right?  I just thought it went perfectly with this week's Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge, which happens to be one of my favorite weekly challenges. Top it off with this adorable, brand-new stamp set from Paper Smooches and I am one happy crafter! Paper Smooches always inspire me to 'think outside the box' and that is why my little gnome has such a unique beard. This card just makes me smile, I hope it does you, too.

Paper: Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Taken with Teal, Baja Breeze,

Katie's Life Celebration Blog Hop

Hello Friends ...Thank you for joining us in honoring our Katie. You should have arrived here from the sweet and talented, not to mention MY BFF, Cassie's blog if not, go ahead and hop back to the begining HERE.

As many of you know, our sweet friend, Katie Renz, just recently lost her battle with gastric cancer. It comforts me to know she is no longer suffering that terrible pain, and that she is once again healed and whole in the Kingdom of Heaven. I like to think of her leading God's Design Team.

Katie brought so much creativity to the blogging community, as well as SO MUCH MORE. Today, on this "Tuesday Tutorial", we would like to honor our Katie by CASEing her fabulous cards into birthday cards. Katie was so uber-talented, I tried my best to honor her by CASEing this card:

I have a LONG way to go before I am able to color as beautifully as Katie could, but I do hope I did her card justice. I was drawn to this card by the eyelets and twine. Katie always had a keen eye for special details.

I 'met' Katie thru Clear Dollar Stamps before I was invited to join the design team, we would comment and chat during the old weekly color challenge. Turns out she lived in my old home town! She, along with my BFF, Cassie, encouraged me to try out for the design team and continued to encourage me while we served on the cds design team together.

Katie was such an inspiring person, not only in her card making and crafting, but in her honesty and candor. She openly shared her journey with the cancer she battled, her ups and downs and her finding peace.

She will be grately missed and fondly remembered.

Thank you so much for stopping by and joining in Katie's Life Celebration blog hop. Your next stop is the talented Jerusha's blog. Again, thank you for joining us in remembering such a wonderful person.

With the time speeding thing noted, I find myself at the third Friday of the month, which means it is time, once again, for the Clearly Inspired Challenge!! YAY! This time, our amazing hostess, Cassie, has challenged us to use FLOWERS on our projects.

I chose a Christmas flower, CDS Poinsettia Joy. I paper pieced the different layers of petals and leaves to give it an interestiing look.

Paper: Old Olive, Echo Park Seasons Greetings dp
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black
Tools/Accessories: dimensionals, misc pearls
Here are the details on the Clearly Inspired Challenge:

-Challenges can use any stamps or digis from any company

-Only one entry per person per challenge and please no back posting

-Prizes will be given away after both challenges for the month. The number of prizes is determined by the number of participants for the month. For every 20 entries there will be a $10 gift certificate for stamps or digis up for grabs with a maximum of 3. (For example if over the entire month there were a total of 60 participants in both challenges, there will be 3 $10 gift certificates and 3 of the featured digital images to give away. . .that's a total of 6 winners in that example.)

Ok, lets see what you all come up with!! Get to work! :o)

Sweet Sketch Wednesday #126 **Nice List Santa**

Hello Friends! Man, it feels like forever since I have been able to craft just for fun! Things have been, well,  to say the least ... upside down here at the Bryant house this last month. For now, at least, things seem to be getting back to 'normal'.

I have missed my paper... I have an addiction to dp, I admit it. And I have had withdrawls to the point where I would go into the craft room to simply visit my dp.

Anyway ... I made this card for Sweet Sketch Wednesday #126. Also, at Paper Smooches, Kim is looking for Christmas cards, so that is why I was inspired to ink up my Paper Smooches' Santa Paws set. I (heart) Paper Smooches' images! Also, although this card may not be so "CAS" I will throw it in the mix at CAS-ual Fridays where they are asking for a design element to go 'over the edge'. I did it creations is calling for Christmas, The Crafty Pad is calling for Paper Piecing ( I paper pieced Santa's suit), and The Ribbon Girl is also calling for Christmas cards.

Card Details:
Stamps: PS Santa Paws
Paper: Ruby Red, Echo Park Seasons Greetings dp,
Cottonball White
Ink: Momento Tuxedo Black, Baja Breeze
Tools/Accessories: PS Doohickies jazzies, misc ribbon,
SU little felt flurries, sponge dauber
