Three Winter Wishes

Hey All! Do you ever have one of those crafting days? Where you want to craft, you have ideas, and when you sit down at the table, everything goes all wrong, and it is a fight to the finish? Welp, that was me today with this card. Everyday, I look up some challenges and jot them down in my sketch book. Today, I was intrigued by the color challenge at splitcoast, ( bermuda bay or taken with teal, old olive, pretty in pink & neutral of choice) the Christmas Card challenge at PaperTake Weekly, and the Pile it On challenge (use Rub-Ons), and thought they would all go so great together! I love a Christmas card without the traditional red and green. Yes, I also like the red and green ... lol..
So with this card, I had a totally different idea, I cut out the trees from a piece of Holiday Lounge dsp and the circles on those trees inspired the use (yes again!) of my sweet snowman family. But things just wernt working, not only were the ideas just not flowing, but things were not working! I had to redo and redo and completely change my sketch! Finally, I finished.. I shake my head with uncertainty about this card, but I am posting it anyway, as a symbol of victory over this card. Thanks for stopping by! I'd love to hear what you think about this creation... good or bad! I want to hear it! :0)
The Details:
Stamps: Snowman Wishes (CDStamps)
Paper: Taken with Teal, Whisper White, Holiday Lounge dsp, Old Olive, Pretty in Pink

Pretty in Pink (marker), Only Orange (marker)

Christmas Joy in a Color Throwdown #69

Sunday night... its quiet. My son crawled into bed on time tonight, and after reading a couple chapters of "The Littles" to him, I slipped into my craft room and got to work. I love the colors for this week's Color Throwdown and could not wait to play with them! This week, they are calling for Chocolate, Olive (optional), Cream and Dark Red. I used Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Very Vanilla and Real Red. Also, I was remembering the sketch challenge at Card Patterns and I think this would fit in with them too. I was inspired by my BFF, Cassie's fun ornament she made with this stamp set. I always copy her, so I dont think she will mind ;p

All you have to do is participate during November, and they will choose on Dec 1st. Its fun to "try out"! So come on and join me! Click on Sweet and Sassy Sketch Challenge to find out more!
Today, when I studied this week's sketch, this cute little nutcracker came to mind. Perfect! He is tall and skinny, just like the panels shown in the sketch. I have also been veering toward the CAS card lately, even though there are several layers, it is simple and clean lined. huh..
Oooh, I just noticed my modern label "enjoy the Season" is crooked, I just checked it and it didnt stick to the ribbon very well, and it fell during picture taking! So please excuse that mishap! It is entirely too much work to go back and change out the picture! LOL ..
Enough chit chat, here are the Details:
Stamps: Holiday Nutcracker (CDStamps)
Paper: Real Red, Garden Green, Very Vanilla, Merry Moments dsp
Ink: Garden Green, Real Red, Soft Suede, Basic Grey
Tools/Accessories: Modern Label Punch, Word Window, sponge,

Hi! It is a happy Saturday when I can get chores done AND spend some quality time in the craft room! I found some extra mojo today and this is the result! I recently came across a Thursday sketch challenge over at Our Creative Corner and today I was inspired to work with it!
On the sketch, I ended up turning the focal panel from horizontal to vertical because when I cut my dsp to size and flipped it over I noticed this awesome piece of a bigger picture and just had to showcase it! I have been having alot of fun with non-traditional Christmas colors, and for today, I challenged myself to NOT use any Nesties! They have been a steady go-to for awhile now, and I wanted to see if I could still create something eye-catching without leaning on the awesomeness of the nestability. ;p

Stamps: Jolly Joy & Charlie Snowhorse - sentiment (CDStamps)
Paper: Whisper White, Ruby Red, Holiday Lounge dsp, watercolor
Ink: Ruby Red, Taken with Teal, Sahara Sand

This made my day!!

I am sure everyone had heard the joke about all my friends being in my computer .. well, in alot of ways that is true for me.. and I am fine with that! And having my own blog and participating in challenges in blog-land has brought me to so many new friends, so many great people, including the great and talented Gloria, who gave me this awesome award! Thank you!!

When you recieve this award, you are to list 5 things about yourself, and here are mine:
(this is harder than I thought it would be)
1. Inviting Jesus into my heart was the best decision of my life and really did change my life, and Thank God for that!
2. I am allergic to dairy, no milk, cheese, ice cream, yogurt, ect for me! and only since my son was born... go figure!
3. I have a touch of OCD, but who says its a bad thing to have everything facing the same direction, lined up perfectly in the fridge & pantry?!
4. I have an irrational fear of the number 13.
5. I love making things for other people.

Now I am going to pass this onto 5 people with great blogs that inspire me and make me smile:

Cassie
Lisa
Shawne
Leah
Sarah

Go check out these fabulous blogs and be ready to be inspired! :0)
Thanks again Gloria!

Something fun to share ...

So I found this sketch book lying around my son's collection of stuff and decided to confiscate it for a better purpose than collecting dust... that purpose being to cover it with dsp!! Muhahaha...
With no distinct idea in my head, I look thru my dsp collection to find inspiration. This Storybook dsp caught my eye, I decided that it would be so much fun to watercolor and without any layout in mind, I went on watercoloring with my watercolor pencils. Finally satisfied, I coordinated some cardstock, dsp and ribbon and finished off this super fun project.. Now I am sure that I need a larger variety of watercolor pencils... :0)

Stamps: None
Paper: Razzleberry Lemonade dsp, Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo,
Storybook Specialty dsp
