Stampin Sisters in Christ #96 CAS

Happy Independance Day! Today, while my son and husband were out having a fun 'boy' day of bumper boats, go carts and mini golf, I was home cleaning  and organizing closets. July 4th does not really excite me like it does others. I dont know why exactly, it just doesnt. So, working on the closets seemed like the perfect activity for the day, and what a work out!  I actually found time yesterday, while my son and husband were out seeing Transformers 3, to make two cards!! Yes! TWO. Lately, that is alot for me! (hey..there sure have been alot of 'boys days' this weekend!)

So, this card is for this weekend's Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge, which is to make a CAS card. Usually, CAS is quite the challenge for me, but this time, things came together just like they should.

I chose A Godly Mother stamp set from Clear Dollar Stamps. And, not coincidentally, Clear Dollar Stamps is this week's sponsor at SSIC!

Details:
Stamps: CDS A Godly Mother
Paper: Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry
Ink: Rich Razzleberry
Tools/Accessories: Nestabilities 4 & 14,
D'Vine Swirls Embossing folder, MFT rolled daisy die
Rich Razzleberry & Whisper White organza ribbon

Thanks for stopping by! Your visit really means alot to me!

Sweet Sketch Wednesday #104 Happy Mail

Hello Friends! Happy Saturday! Today has been a busy day, so it is nice to have some down time to post this card I made yesterday. I was sitting at my desk thinking of something or another and my May KI kit caught my eye. I just thought this ric-rak dp would make such a cute dress! So I looked for a girl to put this dress 'on' .. and PI Happy Mail is the lucky reciepient!

I used the sketch at Sweet Sketch Wednesday as a guideline, I kinda went off the path a little because my dimentions were off, but I am happy with how it turned out all the same.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Clearly Inspired Challenge #29 -- Distressing --

OHMYGoodness! It is June already! Today is my son's LAST DAY of First grade. It is so bittersweet to see him grow up and move up to second grade .. Mrs Kyle has been such a wonderful first grade teacher, she made a lasting inpression on my son, and me.

{Sniff, Sniff} Ok, I am better... Today is the first Friday of June, and that means it is time for another edition of the Clearly Inspired Challenge over at Lori's blog, Clearlyistamp. This time, (my BFF) Cassie, has challenged us to DISTRESS our cards. Now there is a technique I havent done in a LONG time!

As I was thinking of what to make, I was reminded that one of my son's best friends is having a birthday soon, and so, I turned this into a two fold project, a distressed birthday card! Not too grown-up,(note the cowboy paper) the birthday boy is "only" turning 11. I am sure his mom doesnt think 11 is so "only" !! haha

Now, lets see what YOU come up with! You have TWO weeks to play!
