Twisted Thursday challenge #14

Down to the wire, here is my submission for this week's twisted thursday sketch challenge. This week's twist is to add purple. Well, I loved the ides of a purple peony. I chose Lovely Lilac (su) for my purple and the Peony designed by the very talented Kim Teasdale at Clear Dollar Stamps for my focal point. I stamped the image on watercolor paper and cut it out using my labels 3 nesties along with a kiwi kiss and lovely lilac. I watercolored the flower stem with kiwi kiss and the flower by using a lovely lilac marker and my watercolor pen. I had never tried watercoloring this way before, but my little lovely lilac stampin spot was totally not putting enough ink out, so I just went for it and tried the technique I had heard about quite often. The center of the flower is watercolored with a very watered down yo yo yellow and only orange kind of mixed together. I used basic grey for my card and my kiwi kiss dsp background is from urban oasis, which I totally intended on using the other side of this till the very last minute. The left side is adorned with a 1x4" strip of urban oasis dsp and a piece of lilac ribbon from clear dollar stamps. Finally, I finished the card off with the "for you" sentiment that comes with the peony stamp set. Thanks for stopping by and for sharing your thoughts!
